Summary

If you would like to download the publication in PDF format, then please click on the link “Första sidan – I korta drag” above, then click on the link “Hela publikationen (PDF)”.

In this publication the value of the agricultural sector is divided by regions, type of farming and size of the holding measured in arable land.

The result shows that the county where the value of produced agricultural goods was the biggest in 2013 was the county of Skåne followed by the county of Västra götaland. The county where the share of subventions was the highest in relation to the value of the production of agricultural goods was the county of Jämtland followed by Norrbotten. The county where the share was the lowest was the county of Halland followed by the counties of Blekinge and Skåne.

Holdings specialised in dairy cows produced 13,300 million SEK of the value of agricultural goods in 2013. This means that the around 4 000 holdings in this group created 27 % of the value of agricultural produced goods in Sweden.

The share of the subventions in relation to the output value of produced goods was highest for small farms. Other type of farms where the share was high was specialist sheep farms and farms that specialised in cows for meat production. Horticulture farms specialised in pigs and poultry are types of farms where the share of subsidies was the lowest. Horticulture farms as well as farms specialised in pigs or poultry are types of farms where the share of subsidies was the lowest.

More than half of the value of produced goods was created by farms with more than 100 hectares of arable land. Full-time farmers, i.e. farms with a standardised labour input of more than 1 600 hours, created 85 % of the value.
