The value of agricultural output is expected to increase by 2,3 % in 2004 compared to 2003. This is the result of an increase in the volume index by roughly 6 % and a decrease in the price index by 4 %.
The total harvest of cereals increased 2004 compared to 2003. The yield per hectare is higher for most crops compared to 2003. The area of cultivation decreased by 2 % preliminary. The prices of cereals has decreased preliminary.
The harvest of oil seeds increased, both for summer seeds and winter seeds. A combination of favourable circumstances and the introduction of new types in the middle of Sweden could perhaps explain some of it. The area of cultivation has increased between 2003 and 2004.
The harvest of potatoes increased in 2004 compared to 2003. This is the result of an increase of both the area of cultivation and the yield per hectare. This is a turning point compared to the latest years of falling harvest of potatoes. The price of potatoes decreased during the autumn.
Producer prices for pigs have increased, while producer prices for cattle have decreased.
Slaughtering of pigs have preliminary increased during 2004, while slaughtering of cattle have decreased compared to 2003.
The quantity of eggs delivered to wholesalers and the quantity of milk delivered to dairies are expected to have increased during 2004. The prices fell slightly.
The total intermediate consumption has been unchanged between 2003 and 2004, while the price has increased slightly. In total, the value of the total intermediate consumption has increased slightly. Fixed capital consumption and compensation of employees has increased slightly between 2003 and 2004. Other subsidies on production has decreased between 2003 and 2004. All together the factor income is expected to increase by 1,3 %.
