Slaughter of poultry more than second quarter 2015

The quantity of milk delivered to dairies in June 2015 was 244 000 tons, 2 000 tons less than June of last year. Figure A shows the quantity of milk delivered to dairies month by month from 2012 till June 2015. The production of drinking milk was in June 63 000 tons, which is 1 000 tons more than in June 2014. Cream production has been 55 300 tons this far, it is 2 700 tons bigger than last year at this point in time.

In June 2015 slaughtered nearly 31 600 adult cattle and nearly 1 700 calves. The total weight of cattle was nearly 10 500 tons, which is more than the same month in the last three years. This can be seen in Figure A. The slaughter of pigs is more than the same month in the last three years. In June this year there were slaughtered 217 300 pigs, representing a weight of 19 570 tons. Figures B and C show how the slaughter of cattle and pigs has developed since the year 2012.

Figure D shows the total slaughter of poultry on a quarterly basis from 2012 onwards. The slaughter in Q2 has increased every year since 2012. Between 2014 and 2015 increased the slaughter of poultry with 3 525 tons.

During June, 8 600 tons of eggs were delivered to wholesalers from The Swedish Egg and Poultry Associations members, up 4 % compared to June 2014. Their market share is estimated to about 82 %.
