The
results 2005 and 2006 provided in this report are not directly comparable
with results from previous years due to an increased number of small
holdings as a result of the change in agricultural policy in the EU.
The
average household income before tax-free positive transfers and taxes was
for all agricultural households SEK 377 200 in
year 2006, an increase with SEK 18 400 or five per cent since 2005. As
the tax-free positive transfers increased SEK 200 and the negative
transfers increased SEK 4 500 or four per cent the household income
after transfers increased SEK 14 200 or five per cent to SEK
272 300.
For
farmers and spouses the income from business and employment has been
calculated for women and men since 1996. For women income from business
increased SEK 500 in year 2006 and income from employment increased SEK
4 400 so that total income from employment and business increased SEK
4 900 to SEK 178 500. For men the corresponding changes were an
increase with SEK 2 100 and an increase with SEK 3 600 so that
total income from employment and business increased SEK 5 700 to SEK
212 800.
For
farmers and spouses the income from business in 2006 for women as share of
income for men was 31 per cent. This share was 39 per cent in 1996. On the
other hand the corresponding share for income from employment that was 95
per cent in 1996 was 101 per cent in 2006. Although women on average since
year 2000 earn more money from employment than men, their total income from
business and employment was still 16 per cent lower in 2006. In 1996 the
corresponding figure was 18 per cent.
