Benefit for the most deprived

The EU has decided to adopt a distribution plan for the supply of food for the most deprived countries within the EU. The most deprived countries can receive deliveries of barley and skim milk powder from our intervention stores. Deliveries can be done from October 1st 2011 until August 31st 2012.

The quantities of barley in our public stores have been allotted to Malta (1 230,373 tonne), Rumania (54 368,831 tonne), Slovenia (8 829,092 tonne) and the Czech Republic (450 tonne). The quantities of skim milk powder in our public stores have been allotted to Italy (207,3 tonne). It is the receiving Member State that will carry out an invitation to tender to ensure the most favourable conditions for the delivery from Sweden. The Swedish Board of Agriculture cannot answer questions about the invitation to tender in the different Member States.

It is the receiving Member State who will inform Sweden about who has been awarded the contract for the delivery. The Swedish Board of Agriculture will put the goods to the distributor´s disposal when a removal order from the authority in the receiving Member State can be shown.
