The Leader approach in Sweden
Almost all rural areas in Sweden are part of a Leader area. In 2009, 58 Leader areas are in operation and are busy developing their own region. This work is guided by their local development strategy.
Five areas have had their development strategies approved, but they still have to complete a few steps before they are in operation. The five areas are:
In the right-hand column you can find a map that shows the Leader areas in Sweden for the period 2007-2013. Clicking on the map will take you to the various websites of the Leader areas, but those sites are in Swedish only.
