The Board of Agriculture is the Government's expert authority in the agro-food sector, and is responsible for all matters related to agriculture and horticulture. This means for instance that we monitor and analyse the development within the sector and keep the Government informed, and we also implement political decisions within our field of activity.
We promote food production that is competitive, adapted to environmental and animal welfare concerns, and that benefits consumers. We also seek to create a situation in which agriculture can thrive also in less favoured areas. In addition, we work to reduce the risks and the consequences of severe crises within our field of activity.
